Moon not sighted, Eid-ul-Fitr to be observed on May 3 in Pakistan
The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee on Sunday announced that Shawwal moon has not been sighted. Eid-ul-Fitr will be observed on May 3 in the country. The main meeting of the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee in Islamabad at the Ministry of Religious Affairs chaired by Maulana Abdul Kabir Azad. A meeting of the Zonal committees was also held in Karachi, Quetta, Peshawar and Lahore.
The PMD had earlier said that there are no chances of the Shawwal moon being sighted today and therefore, Eidul Fitr may fall on Tuesday in Pakistan.
Meanwhile, South Waziristan in Pakistan and Afghanistan are celebrated Eid today on Sunday after sighting the Shawwal moon yesterday.
