Muhammad Haseeb (MCAT candidate) filed petition claiming that the Pakistan Medical Commission in its notification issued on October 7th, 2020 firmly stated that there will be no new or additional syllabus for this NMDCAT test this year. Though, the commission issued a revised syllabus that was new as well as different from that of the National MDCAT test syllabus issued by University of Health Sciences and gave no time for preparation to the candidates as the test is scheduled to be held on November 15th, 2020. The Lahore High Court dismissed the appeal looking for a direction for PMC to hold MDCAT test 2020 on the basis of the syllabus approved by University of Health Sciences.

Justice Ayesha A. Malik Lahore High Court reserves the final verdict after concluding the arguments of the lawyers on Saturday that the entrance test for admissions in Medical Colleges will be conducted under the new syllabus prescribed by Pakistan Medical Commission. The new syllabus was taken from the present FSC subjects all over Pakistan In the verdict, the Justice Ayesha A. Malik notes that according to the “syllabus clarification” given out by PMC, the students will be given an objection form on the test day to record any objection related to any question they believe outside the syllabus. The Pakistan Medical Commission will then consider these objections and if any question is found to be out of syllabus it will be removed from the scoring. She further added that; the new syllabus did not create a situation for the court to interfere.
