A press release claiming that Friday, May 16, 2025, has been declared a public holiday across Pakistan is circulating online, citing the observance of Youm-e-Tashakur (Day of Gratitude). The document attributes the holiday to the success of Operation “Ma’araka-e-Haq” and is styled as an official notice from the Cabinet Division.
However, despite the format resembling an official government notification, no such public holiday has been confirmed by the relevant ministries or officially endorsed through verified government channels.
Below is a copy of the fake notification.

According to the latest information, Youm-e-Tashakur will be observed, but no public holiday has been announced. All government offices, educational institutions, and businesses are expected to remain open as usual.
