SOPs Finalized for Reopening of Schools in Punjab

School Education Department (SED) Punjab has finalized the SOPs regarding COVID-19 for reopening schools across the province to ensure safety of both students and staff members.

Under these SOPs, the temperature of every student and staff member will be checked before allowing them to enter School. Availability of hand sanitizers for all students and staff members will be responsibility of School Administration. As per SOPs only 20 students will be permitted to sit in one classroom while only 2 students can share a desk.

All sorts of functions, ceremonies, and breaks will be prohibited under the SOPs as well.

As per the SOPs, schools that are unable to ensure the previously mentioned SOP will be required to operate in two shifts.

Former SAPM Shafqat Mehmood had delegated the provinces to formulate the COVID-19 SOPs for reopening of educational institutes from 15 September.
