Single National Curriculum (SNC) has been developed by the Federal Government while taking onboard a 46 person committee including, but not limited to: provincial education departments, private schools, prominent scholars, universities, colleges, NGOs, minorities, educationists and international/ national examination boards.
What is SNC?
SNC is a curriculum document. Schools can define their own syllabus in line with the SNC’s guidelines. Private schools are free to utilize whatever textbooks they wish within the aforementioned context. For example, if the curriculum states that students should be able to point out Pakistan on a map of the words, the syllabus can define whatever methodology they deem most suitable to achieve this learning goal.
Punjab Curriculum Textbook Board has approved Textbooks and SRMs of Private Publishers for Academic Year 2021-22 under Single National Curriculum. See the approved books in below link:

SNC Implementation
Government has announced to implement SNC starting from August 2021 for the current academic session.
Public and private schools owners are directed to implement SNC guidelines and use the textbooks approved by Punjab Textbook Board.
The single national curriculum is implemented from this year 2021 and the month of August all over in Pakistan.
The reason behind SNC implementation
The reason taken by the federal education ministry to implement the SNC is to assess all the children around the country on an equal basis. All kids will follow the same curriculum however there is relaxation in choosing the major language. The SNC is being followed around the world for many years. This is a great step taken by the ministry of federal education towards the fair and equal assessment of students
