Single National Curriculum (SNC) will be implemented across Pakistan

The new uniform curriculum, drafted by the PTI-led government, will be implemented in schools across Pakistan named as Single National Curriculum (SNC) from August 2021, said Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood.

The owners of the publishing houses in Punjab have expressed their concerns over this matter, stating that they had hardly recovered from the pandemic-induced losses and have been dealt another blow with the implementation of the SNC.

The Ministry of Federal Education had announced that the SNC books would be taught at the primary level from August 2021.

Earlier, the minister said the medium of instruction for the new uniform curriculum unveiled by the federal government recently will be the national language of Urdu.

However, Mahmood clarified that the provinces will have the choice to use their major languages along with Urdu to instruct children, adding that this was in line with the provisions in the Constitution.
