Saudi Arabia bans citizen from travel to 16 countries including India

Following the rapid surge in corona virus infection Saudi Arabia has banned its citizens from travelling to India and Turkey including other countries i.e Lebanon, Syria, Iran, Afghanistan, India, Yemen, Somalia, Ethiopia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Libya, Indonesia, Vietnam, Armenia, Belarus, and Venezuela.

Saudi authorities said that the ban was implemented after it observed a consistent increase in the number of daily Covid-19 cases in the previous weeks.

According to Saudi health department there are more than 6400 active Covid-19 cases in the country and more than 9100 people died due to corona virus. They further added that more than 70% of population were vaccinated Covid-19 vaccine with two doses as of May, 15.

Deputy Minister of Health for preventive health, Abdullah Asiri has said that the Kingdom has the capability to monitor and discover the suspected cases of monkeypox and will fight against the infection if new case emerges.
