Pakistan to Observe Another Extreme Heat Wave in next 4 to 5 days

Pakistan is in the grip of a blistering heatwave, with parts of the nation already facing high temperatures of nearly 50C as officials warn of acute water shortages and a threat to health.

The PMD alerted temperatures were between 6C (11F) and 9C (16F) above normal, with the capital Islamabad, as well as provincial hubs Karachi, Lahore and Peshawar, recording temperatures around 40C (104F) on Friday afternoon.

According to the press release of Pakistan Meteorological Department:

People are advised to stay homes in the afternoons and avoid the direct contact with sunlight. And consume foods that prevent from heatwave and drink as much water as possible. Keep ORS in use and try to wear summer friendly colours.
