NayaPay A Digital Payments Revolution in Pakistan

NayaPay is a fintech platform for digital payments in Pakistan.

NayaPay is a two-sided payments platform. It offers consumers a way to make a broad range of payments by smartphone, as well as providing them with a debit card. And it offers small businesses a way to accept digital payments, whether online or at the point of sale.

Danish Lakhani is the founder of Nayapay a Pakistani originated entrepreneur. He has pursued a degree in applied mathematics – computer science at Brown University, a graduate degree in electrical engineering from Stanford University and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.

The idea to launch NayaPay was born during Lakhani’s visits to China, where social messaging and payments apps like WeChat Pay and AliPay are commonly used. He says he was inspired by the ease in use of the Chinese super apps and decided to replicate the model with NayaPay, which he says is going to revolutionize the payments landscape in Pakistan.

NayaPay has already acquired the requisite authorizations, including the E-Money Institution license from the State Bank of Pakistan. NayaPay also plan to introduce other digital financial services like lending and investment, in the future.
