Flag of India

The national flag of India is a horizontal rectangular tricolour of India saffron, white and India green; with the Ashoka Chakra, a 24-spoke wheel, in navy blue at its centre.

Tiger

The magnificent Royal Bengal Tiger is the national animal of India.  It has a thick yellow coat of fur with dark stripes. The combination of grace, strength, agility and enormous power has earned the tiger its pride of place.

Mango

Mangoes, known as the king of fruits, originated in the Indian subcontinent and are scientifically known as Mangifera Indica. It is the national fruit of both India and Pakistan.

Lotus

The lotus was chosen as the national flower because it enjoyed a significant presence in ancient traditions, scriptures and mythology.

Peacock

The Indian peacock, Pavo cristatus, the national bird of India, is a colourful, swan-sized bird, with a fan-shaped crest of feathers, a white patch under the eye and a long, slender neck.

Hockey

According to the Sports Ministry of India in 2012, India presently do not have any sport as “National Game“. But earlier field hockey was the national sport of India.

King Cobra

King Cobra or Snake eater is the National Reptile of India and is found in the forests of India and Southeast Asia.

Banyan Tree

The National Tree of India is Banyan Tree. This huge tree towers over its neighbors and has the widest reaching roots of all known trees, easily covering several acres.
