Honda Atlas Cars Pakistan has officially entered the international market by exporting its first batch of completely built-up (CBU) units. This development signifies a major milestone for the country’s automotive industry, with the initiative aimed at expanding Pakistan’s presence in global markets.
A formal ceremony was held at the company’s facility to commemorate the occasion, attended by key government officials, including Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) for Industries and Production Haroon Akhtar Khan. Also present were Ministry of Industries and Production Secretary Saif Anjum and Engineering Development Board CEO Khuda Baksh Ali.
Honda Atlas Cars Pakistan has dispatched an initial batch of 40 Honda CITY 1.2L units to Japan. This move underscores the company’s commitment to international quality standards and its ambition to contribute to Pakistan’s automotive exports. The export initiative is expected to open new avenues for local manufacturers looking to enter foreign markets.
During his visit to the Honda Atlas facility, SAPM Haroon Akhtar Khan acknowledged the company’s manufacturing capabilities and adherence to high-quality standards. He emphasized the government’s support for industrial growth, stating that the administration is focused on creating a favorable business environment for automotive exports.
Aamir H. Shirazi, representing Honda Atlas, highlighted the collaborative efforts between the private sector and the government in promoting local automotive production. Meanwhile, Takafumi Koike reiterated Honda’s dedication to innovation and expansion in the global market. The event featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony, symbolizing the beginning of the company’s export journey, followed by a tree plantation activity.
SAPM Haroon Akhtar Khan praised the company’s efforts in tapping into international markets and urged other local manufacturers to explore global opportunities. He stated that strengthening exports is key to Pakistan’s industrial growth and economic sustainability.
