US is planning to build a road that can wirelessly charge Electric Vehicles. US has started a pilot project with Islaeli Company Electreon to build a road that can wirelessly charge electric vehicles while running over the road.
The pilot project is initially started in Michigan and only one mile long. According to project details the road will be energized by underground network of charging coils that connect to the energy grid, while the electric vehicles during driving can be charged. The system will be triggered only when active receiver is available. Peoples and animals crossing the road won’t get electorcuted.
